A Thousand Years - Christina Perri

This one is a composition that makes you believe, in love and in the goodness around. Sultry Perri has got a husky charm in her voice; needless to say “A Thousand Years” is one of the most amazing of her works.

Five seconds of its starting notes, and you lose yourself to the melody. It waltzes around you, catching you in a strange symphony. More than a song, this one appeals as a conversation, as though Perri is letting you participate in a conversation that’s nothing less than bliss.

Essential for dreamers, diehard romantics, believers, non-believers, broken-hearted – It soothes. Apart from the music, it’s video is spellbinding to say the least. Plus, scenes from what is hailed as the most eagerly-awaited on-screen wedding of the century, of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen.

This one opens gateways to heaven, more dreams coming your way.

My Favorite Lines –

Time stands still
Beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything take away
What's standing in front of me
Every breath
Every hour has come to this

One step closer

Eat Pray Love

Eat, Pray, Love brilliantly chronicles the journey of a woman. Cited to have passed hands from one woman reader to another, it has a point to make. Writer Elizabeth Gilbert’s own story, it makes for an engrossing read, allowing the mind to break free.

This is essentially about following one’s heart, about listening to our own souls. Set in the drastically different settings of Italy, India and Indonesia, it is a fantasy ride. Walking out from her seemingly happy marriage and secure career, the protagonist becomes a free bird, traveling to yonder lands, fulfilling every dream that she ever had.

This one is written for dreamers, who believe that stars do align, do fall to the Earth, if only you dare to wish.

My word – a must for every girl out there!

My favorite lines –

“When I get lonely these days, I think: So BE lonely, Liz. Learn your way around loneliness. Make a map of it. Sit with it, for once in your life. Welcome to the human experience. But never again use another person's body or emotions as a scratching post for your own unfulfilled yearnings.”

― Elizabeth Gilbert, Eat, Pray, Love

“I met an old lady once, almost a hundred years old, and she told me, 'There are only two questions that human beings have ever fought over, all through history. How much do you love me? And who's in charge?”

― Elizabeth Gilbert, Eat, Pray, Love

What I said to God through my gasping sobs was something like this: "Hello, God; how are you? I'm Liz. It's nice to meet you."

That's right—I was speaking to the creator of the universe as though we'd just been introduced at a cocktail party. But these are the words I always use at the beginning of a relationship. In fact, it was all I could do to stop myself from saying, "I've always been a big fan of your work..."

"I'm sorry to bother you so late at night," I continued. "But I'm in serious trouble. And I'm sorry I haven't ever spoken directly to you before, but I hope I have always expressed ample gratitude for all the blessings you've given me in my life."

This thought caused me to sob even harder. God waited me out. I pulled myself together enough to go on: "I'm not an expert at praying, as you know. But I am in desperate need of help. I don't know what to do. I need an answer. Please tell me what to do. Please tell me what to do. Please tell me what to do..."

And so the prayer narrowed itself down to that simple entreaty—Please tell me what to do, repeated again and again. I don't know how many times I begged. I only know that I begged like someone who was pleading for her life. And the crying went on forever.
